In today’s post I would like to give you couple of tips on cold market prospecting.
Obviously cold market prospecting techniques are slightly different than warm market prospecting. There is no relationship pre-build and this is something that needs to be done before you can talk about your business or product opportunity.
I receive a lot of new messages on my Facebook profile from strangers and 99% of them are doing the same mistake. This is the reason why I create this content so you can avoid this mistake in the future. Most of people who are reaching out to me are sending me messages like: “Hey your profile is really interesting and I think you are a sharp person who will perfectly fit to my business. Here is the link, please watch it and join my team.” Now, I would like to ask you a question. If you receive this kind of message do you bother to even open it? I thought so. This direct approach doesn’t work at all.
Instead of pitching strangers with your opportunity please make an effort to build a relationship first. If you don’t know how to do it I strongly recommend you to read a book “How to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie. So how to build relationship with strangers? First of all make sure you review their social media profiles and find something that you can compliment. You can send them a message like: “Hey Mr X, I really like that picture, where it was taken?” or “Hello Mr X, I really enjoyed your blog post on …., do you mind if I will share it on my profile/website/with my friends?”. Complimenting people is a great opener for conversation. Get to know these people first and at some stage it will be appropriate to talk about your home business opportunity. The whole idea is to turn cold market prospect into warm market as quick as possible. Remember that people will buy from you if they know you, trust you and like you.
